Nevada's Board of Medical Examiners has filed a complaint against Steve Wong, MD, an anesthesiologist, alleging his use of the wrong device led to a patient's death, according to a Las Vegas Sun news report.
According to the complaint, a 23-year-old patient was undergoing surgery for teeth removal in 2008 when Dr. Wong allegedly used an LMA airway device instead of an endotracheal tube.
