Manhattan Spine & Pain Medicine receives accreditation: 5 things to know

Manhattan Spine & Pain Medicine in New York City received accreditation.

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care granted Manhattan Spine & Pain Medicine accreditation. Here are five things to know about the center:

1. Sanjay Bakshi, MD, founded the practice in 2003 and grew it to include four physicians, three physician assistants and five locations in New York and New Jersey.

2. The physicians focus on interventional and non-interventional solutions for pain management, including steroid injections, spinal cord stimulation and PRP. Dr. Bakshi is the president of the New York chapter of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

3. Patient's Choice named Dr. Bakshi among America's Most Compassionate Doctors in 2010. Other physicians at the practice have received teaching recognition and served on the editorial boards for professional publications.

4. Jim Robinson is the CEO of National Spine & Pain Centers, which is the parent company to Manhattan Spine & Pain Medicine. The practice affiliated with National Spine & Pain Centers in 2013.

5. The group is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
