CDC Releases Guidance on Environmental Cleaning Evaluation

The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention has offered two options for evaluating environmental cleaning in healthcare settings, according to a CDC release.

The two program options are packaged as toolkits to be used by healthcare professionals. The programs were created in response to evidence showing transmission of many healthcare-association pathogens correlate to contaminated surfaces and equipment that are in close proximity to patients. Each program outlines specific steps healthcare professionals can take to improve environmental cleaning initiatives at facilities.
