AMA Releases Guidelines to Help With Patient Safety
The American Medical Association has released two reports to help physicians and ASCs improve quality care and patient safety.
The Physician's Guide to Patient Safety Organizations (pdf) is AMA's newest published guidelines aimed at helping physicians understand the Patient Safety Act, which is federal legislation passed to minimize adverse patient experiences. The guide also discusses in detail patient safety evaluation systems and patient safety organizations.
The report on Advancing Ambulatory Quality Improvement (pdf) was published to help medical professionals take a closer look at 13 medical societies and how they plan to improve current and future ambulatory care. The guide includes recommendations for improvement in quality care.
