Accreditation leader to know: Mike Dye of The Joint Commission

Mike Dye is the senior associate director of the ambulatory care program at The Joint Commission. He joined The Joint Commission in 1994 working with a consulting firm assisting The Joint Commission with its accreditation application process.

He supports and encourages new ambulatory care and outpatient organizations and providers at the beginning of the accreditation process.

"One of the interesting things about my job is the ability to talk to our customers long after my initial contact," said Mr. Dye in a Joint Commission report. "Customers often call back years after they first talked with me because we developed such a strong relationship. Often, they'll call just to share what a great experience they had during their initial survey. That's a real rewarding feeling."

Mr. Dye earned his degree at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and completed his Master of Public Health at Benedictine University.
