The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care has accredited the most freestanding ambulatory surgery centers in California, with 435 centers, according to a report from the California HealthCare Foundation.
AAAHC is followed by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, which accredits 282 of the state's freestanding ASCs. Institute for Medical Quality has accredited 104 centers in California, and The Joint Commission has accredited 49.
