The Endoscopy Center of Washington, D.C., received accreditation.
The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care conducted the successful survey. Here are five things to know about The Endoscopy Center of Washington, D.C.:
1. There are nine board-certified physicians serving the DC area, with a population of around 1 million.
2. Procedures at the center include colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, hemorrhoid banding and upper endoscopy.
3. The endoscopy center is affiliated with AmSurg.
4. Nelson P. Trujillo, MD, and Donald O'Kieffe, MD, established the gastroenterology practice in the 1960s and later decided to expand their practice into an outpatient facility with the mission of providing cost-effective, high quality care.
5. The practice moved to a larger space in the early 1990s and formed the partnership with AmSurg in 1993. The center was re-named Endoscopy Center of Washington, D.C., that year.
