5 ASCs, endoscopy centers achieve AAAHC accreditation

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care granted five AmSurg-affiliated surgery centers and endoscopy centers accreditation over the past month.

The newly-accredited centers include:

• Abilene (Texas) Endoscopy Center
• The Blue Hen Surgery Center, Dover, Del.
• Blue Ridge Surgery Center, Seneca, S.C.
• Digestive Disorders Endoscopy Center, Chattanooga
• Guilford Endoscopy Center, Greensboro, N.C.

The Abilene Endoscopy Center opened in 1994 and physicians perform colon cancer screenings and treat gastrointestinal problems. The center is affiliated with Stop Colon Cancer Now.

The Blue Hen Surgery Center is a freestanding facility focused on gastrointestinal and eye procedures. The center is affiliated with Stop Colon Cancer Now and led by director Jackki Tiller, RN, BSN-BC, MSN.

Blue Ridge Surgery Center is a freestanding outpatient center focused on orthopedic surgery, pain management and ophthalmology specialties. There are 14 physicians associated with the center.

Digestive Disorders Endoscopy Center includes 14 physicians who perform colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, hemorrhoid banding and upper endoscopy.

Guilford Endoscopy Center focuses on colon cancer screening and gastrointestinal problems. There are two physicians with privileges at the center
