3 Biggest Ambulatory Accreditation Challenges

According to the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care's first annual standards compliance analysis, the AAAHC AENEID Report 2013, of all AAAHC-accredited organizations, the most commonly deficient survey items, scored as partially or noncompliant between 10 and 25 percent of the time, include:

  • Standard 2.II.D: Receiving and documenting privileges to carry out specified procedures are granted by the organization to the healthcare professional to practice for a specified period of time.
  • Standard 6.K: Prominently and consistently documenting the presence or absence of allergies and verifying at every patient encounter
  • Standard 8.E: Requiring and documenting the proper amount of internal emergency and disaster preparedness drills.
