2 Connecticut Physicians Fined for Wrong-Side Surgery; Leaving Malignant Tumor
The Connecticut Medical Examining Board has fined two Connecticut physicians for patient safety reasons, according to a New Haven Independent report.

Tom Bell, MD, a general surgeon from Norwich, was fined $5,000 for removing a patient's benign bowel lesion but not the patient's malignant lesion in 2009. In addition, David Kloth, MD, a pain physician and anesthesiologist from Danbury, was fined $5,000 for administering an epidural shot on the wrong side of a patient, according to the report.
