Plexus Management Group and one of their clients have successfully advocated to BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota to expand their medical necessity policy.
Here are three points:
1. BCBS of Minnesota will now automatically pay for any cases submitted (and justified) for American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status II or higher.
2. The previous version of the policy only paid for physical status III and higher and required providers to appeal medical necessity for other patients.
3. Plexus MG is a subsidiary of MiraMed Global Services, and it also works closely with Anesthesia Business Consultants, another MMGS subsidiary, to provide comprehensive services to the anesthesia and pain management industry.
