Massachusetts General Anesthesiologist Sends Dispatch Home From Libya
Catherine Mullaly, MD, an anesthesiologist with Massachusetts General Hospital, recently sent a dispatch home from Misrata, Libya, where she is working at Qasr Ahmed Hospital, according to a Boston Globe report.
Dr. Mullaly has been serving for nearly six weeks as a Durant fellow with Doctors Without Borders. She wrote home saying that she was in the operating room when she heard that Libyan rebels had taken Sirte. She said hospital staff gathered around a television to watch the news while a colleague translated.
Dr. Mullaly describes her experience hearing about Colonel Moammar Khadafy's death on the Massachusetts General website. http://www.massgeneral.org/about/newsarticle.aspx?id=3051
