Federal Pain Research Advisory Committee Holds First Meeting

The Interagency Pain Research Coordinating Committee last week held its first meeting to discuss pain research collaboration with the federal government, the American Society of Anesthesiologists reported.

Formed under the PPACA as a federal advisory committee to enhance pain research and government collaboration, the committee will summarize advances in pain research supported by federal agencies and identify further research needs. The IPRCC will also make recommendations concerning the dissemination of information on pain care, how to expand public-private partnerships focusing on pain research.

The IPRCC includes seven federal members and twelve non-federal members. The full list is available here. The next IPRCC meeting is scheduled for September.
