Sonia Szlyk, MD, and Ryan M. Nunley, MD, are slated to present on how collaboration between anesthesiologists and orthopedic surgeons can support bundled payment initiatives.
Their presentation, titled "Collaboration and Outcomes in the Era of Bundled Payments," will take place at the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Annual Meeting later this month.

1. Dr. Szlyk is the director of regional anesthesia for Melville, N.Y.-based anesthesia management company North American Partners in Anesthesia.
2. Dr. Nunley is an associate professor orthopedic surgery at St. Louis-based Washington University School of Medicine.
3. The two physicians will discuss how using regional anesthesia as a part of enhanced recovery after surgery pathways can support orthopedic care, in part by enabling multimodal pain management techniques.
4. Dr. Szlyk, in particular, will discuss how to implement a safe and reliable regional anesthesia program.
