Do anesthesia gases contribute to global warming?

Anesthesia is a vital element of many medical procedures, but a recent study published in the Geophysical Research Letters suggests a negative consequence of anesthesia, according to a report by The Weather Network.

Desflurane, isoflurance and sevoflurane are the most common anesthesia gases; these gases are also classified as greenhouse gases, according to the report. The researchers noted there are no regulations for the disposal of anesthetics, thus most of the gases are released directly into the atmosphere.
