The American Society of Anesthesiologists' political action committee has made a major investment in an open congressional primary in Pennsylvania, according to a National Journal report.
The ASA is spending $210,000 on radio ads supporting Democratic candidate Val Arkoosh, MD, who is running in the liberal 13th District in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Arkoosh is an obstetric anesthesiologist, professor of clinical anesthesiology and critical care and a professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia.
