1. Mean annual earnings of anesthesiologists was $211,750 in May 2009.
2. Mean hourly wage was $101.80.
3. Mean annual wage of anesthesiologists who worked in physicians' offices was $221,010.
4. Mean annual wage of those who worked in general medical and surgical hospitals was $176,630.
5. Mean annual wage of those who worked in outpatient care centers was $207,240.
6. Mean annual wage of those who worked in colleges, universities and professional schools was $139,490.
7. The top paying state for anesthesiologists was Washington, followed by Oregon and New Jersey.
